But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves.

James 1:22 · NHEB

Hearing a good sermon is the beginning. Bible Note Journal helps you hold on to what you heard on Sunday, so you can live it out on Monday.

How it works

One sermon, a whole week of growth.

From the moment the pastor stands up to the Saturday before next Sunday, here is how a single message stays with you.

  1. 1Sunday morning

Record the message as it’s preached.

Tap record when the pastor stands up. Pause and resume as you need to, and jot notes as you listen. Already have a recording? Upload an MP3, M4A or WAV file instead.

    • Recording works offline, right from your seat
    • Saved on your iPhone until you’re ready to process it
  2. 2Sunday afternoon

    Every word, ready to revisit.

The sermon is transcribed word for word, with timestamps, and you get a notification when it’s ready. Search the transcript for the line that stuck with you.

  3. 3Monday

The heart of the message, on one page.

A summary gathers the key points, lessons and Scripture from the sermon, plus a few ways to apply it this week. Tap any reference and the passage opens right there.

  4. 4Wednesday

    Let it take root.

Study cards made from the sermon help you memorize Scripture and remember what you learned. Go through them on your own, or bring them to your small group.

  5. 5Saturday

    Live it out.

Journal questions ask what God is teaching you and what you’ll do about it. Write your reflection, and come back to it before next Sunday.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Bible Note Journal. Still wondering? Write to us.

Can I record sermons live during church?

Yes. Tap record when the sermon begins, pause and resume whenever you need to, and take notes while you listen. Recording doesn’t need an internet connection, and the audio is saved on your iPhone until you’re ready to process it.

Can I use a sermon recording I already have?

Yes. Upload an MP3, M4A, WAV or other common audio file from your iPhone or iCloud Drive, and it’s processed just like a live recording.

Does the app transcribe sermons automatically?

Yes. Each sermon you process is transcribed word for word with timestamps, and you can search the transcript. A summary, study cards and journal questions are created from it at the same time.

Is Bible Note Journal free?

The app is free to download. Recording, uploading, saving sermons, folders and the Bible reader are all free. A subscription unlocks transcription, smart summaries, study cards, journal questions and notifications when your notes are ready.

How long does it take to process a sermon?

Most sermons are ready within a few minutes, depending on their length. You don’t need to keep the app open; you’ll get a notification as soon as your notes are ready.

How accurate are the summaries and study cards?

They are generated by AI from the sermon’s transcript and are designed to understand sermons, Bible studies and apologetics teaching. They’re a helpful guide, not a replacement for Scripture, so we always encourage reading them alongside the transcript and your Bible.

Can I share sermon notes with my small group?

Yes. From any sermon you can share its audio, summary or transcript by text, email or any app on your iPhone. It’s an easy way to prepare a small group or Bible study discussion.

Which Bible translations are included?

The built-in Bible reader includes the New Heart English Bible (NHEB) and the King James Version (KJV). Tap any Scripture reference in your sermon notes to read the passage without leaving the app.

Do my notes sync across my devices?

Yes. With iCloud sync, your transcripts, summaries, notes, journal entries and folders sync through your private iCloud database to your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. Audio recordings stay on the device that recorded them.

Can I organize my sermons?

Yes. Create folders for a sermon series, a church or a speaker, and add a sermon to as many folders as you like. You can also search all of your sermons at once.

Is my sermon audio and journal private?

Yes. There’s no account to create. Your notes and journal entries are stored on your device and, if you use iCloud sync, in your private iCloud database, which we can’t access. Audio is sent to us only when you choose to process a sermon, and your original recordings are not stored on our servers. Read our Privacy Policy for the details.
